Relief Print

relief print 1First attempt at relief printing from styrofoam block.  The block was a bit uneven but on the second print (red) I was able to correct that by using my fingers rather than the brayer.

  1. What do you mean by – correct by using fingers – what part of the process was changed? They are both of interest in their own ways but I do prefer the red one. Lots of possibilities there.

    • Typically, I transfer the ink from the block by running a baren over the paper; using my fingers rather than the flat baren, I am able to target an area of the block that is slightly lower than the main part of the block.
