Jack in the Pulpit

The first spring after we moved into our house we found a Jack -in-the-Pulpit under the window in Frank’s study.  It suffered from drought and almost disappeared.  A few springs there was just a brave cluster of leaves and no flower.  With all the rain we have been having, I was happily surprised to find Jack in bloom and a cluster of possible other little plants surrounding it.

  1. Very nice picture, a bit like seeing once again the Jack in the Pulpit in Dad’s old wild flower garden at the back of the yard. The Jack we moved here from Roane County has not appeared this spring, perhaps did not survive the winter. But all kinds of violets have been rampant, covering much of the yard with blue and purple and white.
